A dark crime thriller set in Belfast follows Jo, a black-market doctor who makes her way patching up gangsters and performing back-room abortions. Once a prominent anaesthetist, she spiralled off the rails after the tragic death of her daughter - a death she feels responsible for. After saving a young man's life she gets introduced to some new, wealthy, and secretive clients, led by powerful matriarch Bernadette. Following a visit to their opulent compound, Jo's life is thrown into further disarray when a young captive girl hides in her car to escape the group’s clutches. When Bernadette later tries to recruit Jo into an organ transplant for her daughter Lucy, Jo realises her stowaway's true worth.
